I just finished archiving everything on The Third Turn...

As it turned out, my bank account wasn’t frozen, so that was good. I still didn’t get a real job this week but there’s some interest from the various temp agencies and recruiters I called and we’ll see if that amounts to anything. My cold is just about over now and I think you can tell my writing has improved (I think the Andretti column is a lot better than the Foyt column and I think I’ll want to rewrite the Foyt column at some point). I fell a couple days behind not so much because I was sick but because I was entering a mother lode of data into my 4 megabyte+ universal driver list. On the days I was sick, I finally finished entering all the series that are archived on The Third Turn. I listed all top ten points finishers and winners for every major league series, all top five points finishes and winners for all top-tier minor league series, and only the champions and drivers who won 5+ races in a season for the extremely minor leagues. I for the most part ignored archiving individual stand-alone races that weren’t part of a championship except for the really big ones (sports car endurance races, the Chili Bowl, the Snowball Derby, the Macau Grand Prix, etc…) There are still several more archives I plan on scraping data from and right now I’m entering champions from all the rally series from individual countries, but while there are still five or six more sites I want to collect data from, I don’t think any of them are as expansive as The Third Turn so I’m probably now over 90% done with this master driver list. After that, I hope to complete my rally drivers’ model, which will probably be my last one.
