1,000 Greatest Drivers: Ned Jarrett
"Needlenose Ned"? "Ned the Head"? C'mon, buddy. Sorry, I had to.
I keep putting off the articles on many of these drivers until the last minute and then miss submitting them before their birthday is already over, but I wanted to finish my column on Jarrett while he is still alive at age 92. I’m glad I got the Paul Goldsmith column finished right before he died, and I would like to try to finish my columns for most of the oldest drivers while they are still alive. The reason this is a little late is I decided to go through and collect all the lead change data for Craftsman Truck Series races after the Xfinity race finished this evening because I wanted to try and determine whether I thought Christian Eckes or Corey Heim has had the better season to date, since I do think they are both going to be contenders for placement on my top 200 list for this year, although if I’m going to write these daily columns as well, I think it’s going to take me a lot longer to complete my top 200 list than it did the last three years. I’m probably going to try to catch up with Xfinity lead change data as well as calculating all my main statistics for both the BTCC and IMSA seasons now that both of those championships have finished over the next couple weeks, so I ended up being a few minutes late here, but still I got it done.
