I blew this off yesterday because I was trying to make sure I properly cleaned off Mom’s bed and the path to her bedroom last night. The village code enforcement officer took the day off to celebrate his 26th wedding anniversary today so he was unable to authorize my mom’s return, but now that I’ve cleaned up those areas, he should be able to do so tomorrow although I’m not sure whether my mom’s nursing home is going to want to let her out. When I arrived there today, she told me she wanted me to take her home but I was told that if I attempted to do this against medical advice, I might be held liable for “kidnapping”. They actually told me that although I think it was hyperbole. It was not my idea to take her home; it was hers. However, because she continues to fail their cognitive tests because she doesn’t remember what year it is (even though I still think she has enough cognition to understand anything that is being read to her) I think they might not let her out. It’s very frustrating. I’m either going to try to catch up with my planned schedule tonight or tomorrow.
